Dicom RT struct - Extract ROI voxels

Dear All,

I have a question related to handling of dicom data in Matlab. I have a dicom RD dose file, which contains a 3D matrix with the radiotherapy dose released to each single voxel.

I also have a dicom RS file, which contains contours of different ROIs. I would like to create a "mask" for the voxels of a specific ROI, therefore assigning a value of 1/0 to the corresponding voxels of the 3D matrix that belong/not belong to such ROI.

Do you have any hint?

Are your ROI contours defined as 3D polyhedra? If so, you may be able to deterimine the voxels inside the ROI's by using various "inpolyhedra" type functions, examples here and a useful thread here.
