Is it possible to link the legend with the data brush function?

Hi, I have a scatter plot of data, for which the legend in really large. I've updated my tooltip to show the DisplayName, but I was wondering if I could use the brush function to show only a portion of the dataset as a legend? (or something with a similar appearance).
