what to do to analyze this data

I am looking to strengthen my skills in Matlab before I graduate school since I've been approached by few companies that deals with a lot of data analysis, data acquisition, signal processing, and numerical modeling. Can someone suggest one or two books That would help me strengthen my skills in these fields. It would help so much. Keep in mind that my level is somewhat intermediate or beginner with matlab.
