Copy/paste not working in MatLab 2013a in Windows 8?

Since yesterday I am using MatLab R2013a in Windows 8 Pro on my MacBook Pro. The problem is that the copy/paste commands Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V in the MatLab editor and commandwindow do not seem to work.
When I select codelines I am not able to copy and/or paste in MatLab using Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V. Using the right mouse button and then copying/pasting does not work either. The strange thing is that I am able to copy code lines to other programs and paste there, but pasting does not work in MatLab. Drag and drop with a mouse does work in MatLab.
Has anyone experienced the same problem and can you help me fix it?

I experience the exact same problem, using Matlab 2013a as well. Haven't found a solution yet, so I am eager to know if someone does.

I observe a similar behavior und 2009a, when I have opened a VirtualPC to run Matlab6.5 under a virtual XP simultaneously for testing. In addition my browser inserts a ` before special characters like [ and ] in addition.
The solution is easy: I do not expect my machine to work properly, when VirtualPC is active. Another solution is tostart Matlab with the -nojvm flag. Unfortunately the GUI is very lean then, e.g. the editor does not work anymore.
Some parts of Matlab are over-featured, as the ribbon/java/docked IDE, while others look like the early 1990th, like the uitree's and uitable's or the missing strong support of multi-monitor setups.
Sometimes the computer stuff makes me depressive. I hope you get better answers.
