Concatenating multiple NetCDF files

Prior note: not much experience on MATLAB.

I have a folder of .cdf files each containing sattelite measured sea surface salinity measured every 3 days. To do anything useful with them, I need to concatenate them into a timeseries of data. I have no idea how to go about doing this except I have been given the following by my supervisor:

clear all

data_files = dir();

numfiles = length(data_files);

for i = 1:numfiles

data(SSS)=ncread(data_files(i),'SSS');

end

I'm not really sure where to go from here. Anyone got any words of wisdom?
