What is the dffrence between the files?

I'm new in matlab and I want to ask what each symbol means.

I suspect one is a .fig file and the other is the source code.

You could configure your Windows Explorer to show extensions.

They look like icons for files. If you use a computer, you've seen many, many icons before. If a file does not have its own icon, then a default icon is used - that's what the one on the right looks like.
