how do I implement a 2D FFT on a time domain animation of a grid of data points

I have a grid of measurement locations, each of which has a x and y coordinate assigned to it. At each location I have a time domain data trace in displacement and when I animate all data traces simultaneously I can visualize the real time animation of the surface. I would like to calculate the 2D FFT in time and space (x direction). In other words, I would like to apply the 2D FFT to the time data in order to move from the x-t domain into the k-f domain. Any idea on how I could implement that? Unfortunately, the measurement grid is not aligned with the x axis. Any help is greatly appreciated.
