why do my output variables not update when I use the sim function

Also just fyi my outputs come from scopes on simulink. They are loged in woorkspace to aray when I run the MatLab program the simulink graphs update but the MATLAB graphs do not. If i run simulink sepretly then they will update. I am running 2020b. But I cant change input var and then run and see my results.

Here it goes again. Please see this. Mathworkers need to pay attention to this. This trap seems unreasonable.
