How to read DNA coordinates using pdbread?

Dear All,

I am a newbie to the bioinformatics toolbox in matlab (R2012a). I successfully read a protein pdb file using pdbread command. However, when I use a pdb file containing DNA strands, the pdbread command does not read the coordinates of the nucleotides. Could you please tell me if there is any option to instruct pdbread to recognize DNA?
