Can some one please explain how the battery energy is calcuated in the matlab example file,

in the same example, two m files are used , battsolaroptimize and battsolaroptmisefullmatrices.Can you please guide if both these are used in that problem , if so which one is called in the other using which function .If both are not used , what is the difference between these two ?
