Hi,
I have a font problem in Matlab R2020b (Windows 10), it just looks gibberish.
Changing fonts in the "Preferences --> Font" does not help. I also read somewhere that one might try right-click on all the fonts in the Windows Fonts folder and "install for all users". In that case, I have the gibberish font in Windows itself.
Any thoughts what might be the problem? I am pretty sure that it should be a corrupted font, but I already tried to "reset" the fonts settings in Windows and that did not help either.
Thank you.

So, the problem was the corrupted font, I believe, and the Matlab support (thanks a lot!) helped me by sharing this link with different ways to fix the corrupted font in Windows. In my particular case, step #4 (creating a .reg file) solved the issue.
Hope, this can help others, too.

Hi Stanislav,
It appears that the language settings on your MATLAB are set to a different language.
To change the language back to English:
  1. Go to MATLAB Menu > Preferences > General > Desktop Language > Select the language for the desktop and error messages > English and then restart MATLAB.
  2. Note that the 'Desktop Language' box will only appear in your preferences menu if your computer locale is set to something other than English.
If you can't find the 'Desktop Language' setting, refer this for alternate instructions.

A number of people have had similar problems; I have not yet seen any explanation that could account for all the different cases.
