How to save a cross-section of a volume made by surf-function as a 2D image?

Dear,
I took several cross-sections of 3D volume data by the surf-function. All the cross-sections are made under a certain angle. Now, I want to save each cross-section (surface object) as an individual 2D image (png or tif). How can I do this?

What about imwrite? Im using export_fig
