Error using neural networks nnstart: error: reference to non-existent field

I am trying to demo the capabilities of the NN toolbox using nnstart. Once I load the sample data and get to the Network Architecture window and press, next I get this pop-up message which says Reference to non-existent field 'net_read_only.

I am not able to go any further after this message. Please help...
