Using MATLAB and a TWAIN scanner together

I am building an automated inspection application using a scanner. The scanner only supports TWAIN. I have the image acquisition toolbox, but it doesn't seem to support TWAIN.
Does MATLAB have any support for TWAIN? If not, is there any third-part adapters or software that will allow matlab to execute scans and pull in the images?

As Walter suggested I tried Viscom Scanner Pro SDK ActiveX 4.0. It was really easy to use and it did everything I wanted. It is not free plus I have the security concern of ActiveX so I am open for any other solution too but I like it.

I have downloaded the software mentioned (scanner pro), do you have any examples on how to make this work with Matlab? I want to get the scanner to scan a region and export as a .bmp.
I have not worked with Twain before.

I met the same problem recently and I really want to know whether Matlab 2019 can deal this.
Hi Walter, the link to the third-party support seems to be wrong. The link takes me to a dubious website :)
Is there another link?

In additionl the the Viscom SDK, I also see https://www.tegakari.net/en/2020/03/vintasoft_twain_net_sdk/ for .NET use
(I also see Vidar TWAIN but VIDAR seems to have exited the market now.)
The Wayback Machine archive of the qarchive page does not show anything useful; https://web.archive.org/web/20170512103328/http://matlab-scanner-twain.qarchive.org/

I had seen the MATLAB Support item before, but that was 4 years ago and I thought there might be an update by now
