Increasing sampling rate with ardiuno

I want to sample at 1000 samples/sec with my arduino. I am not getting near this using the package http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/32374. Any suggestions ?

Did you ever come to a solution? Was there code that was required to be uploaded to Arduino for the readVoltages to be read quicker in MATLAB?
