How to generate a random data set with elliptical shape ?

hi,everybody I want to generate a random data set with an elliptical shape,the data can be on the elliptical edges or inside it, for example :an ellipse is :(x^2)/5^2+(y^2)=1

Thank you very much,I have seen this answer,and have done the experiment with first answer,the performent doesn't good for my requirement,next I will try to write code with you suggestion. thank you!
