how to join the edges?

i have found the edge of an image using edge command .the lines are not properly connected .How to join those scattered lines...

Possibly using IMCLOSE.

You could use edge linking methods, such as those on Peter Kovesi's web site: http://www.csse.uwa.edu.au/~pk/Research/MatlabFns/#edgelink
