HI, I am trying to learn about the Generic SimBiology PBPK model provided by MathWorks SimBiology Team in File Exchange. In this model, Human fasted, Human fed and Rat physiologies are included as variants. I want to change the compartment capacities, species initialamounts and parameters contain in the Rat variant. But nothing change when I click the Active column of Rat variant, and the model elements are still the Human which is default. How can I change the compartment, species and parameter through variants? Thank in advance.![](https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/uploaded_files/710687/image.png)

Hi, if you choose Initial Coniditions on the home tab of Model Builder, you will see that the values on the Initial Contitions column in the Browser for quantities reflect the ones that of the active variant. Please see the screenshot below and let me know if you have further questions.

I wanted to add a few more details to Fulden's answer. We commonly use variants to apply a temporary change to a model for the duration of a simulation. But if you no longer care about the values on the model and want to permanently replace them with the values in a variant, you can also do that. To permanenly change your model values to match the ones in the variant, right-click on the name of the variant and select "Commit."
