pass variable to step function in reinforcement learning toolbox, for online learning case

In reinforcement learning toolbox, for online learning case, I need to pass arguments to step function. This can be done using function handles if these arguments will not change at each iteration. What can we do in the case that these values change at each iteration. Is there any way to pass new values for these arguments at each call of the step function?
