eps conversion of - a part of - whole MATLAB figure (M.fig)

Suppose I have a MATLAB figure (M.fig). If I save this as an eps file using the `save as' option, MATLAB takes, so to speak, `An EPS Snapshot' of the entire window.
My question is, if I want to convert only a part of this M.fig into an eps file, and not the whole window, then is there a possibility of shrinking the area over which MATLAB takes a snapshot ?
e.g. suppose M. fig had four subplots, arranged in 2 cross 2 manner, and I want an eps file having only two of these four figures, then is it possible to, somehow, implement this in MATLAB?
(Please don't give me the trivial solution as an answer, that I can make a separate plot using the data that was used to generate the four subplots. The only reason why I have posted this question, is because I am trying to avoid doing that)
Thanks in anticipation.
