Copy matrix into N Dimensional array

Folks,

How do I copy a 18*9 matrix 6 times to create a 6-D array?

I have tried

R1=repmat(R1_1, [: : 6])

I have also tried

R1(:,:,2)=R1 repeatedly up to 6, no luck
