Why won't the network license manager start when I use Flexera mode by adding -w to lmstart or my boot scripts?

I start the network license manager using -w or by specifying this mode in an lmopts.sh. When I try to start the license manager this way, the vendor daemon MLM will not start.

The option to use -w when starting the network license manager for MATLAB may not work with the vendor daemon released with MATLAB R2011a and newer.
