Challenging due to the nature of the problem itself and not because it requires running down the array but with the use of for or while banned.

One that makes you think. One that's neither too easy nor overly challenging. One that has applications. One that teaches you something new (about MATLAB or otherwise). One that is, first and foremost, about programming, not about solving math problems on paper. One that is creative. One that is, in a nutshell, fun to solve.
