Can you add some detail about your project? What is your hardware? What are you trying to do - what kind of sensor data are you saving? It looks like you are asking about input to a prinf or sprintf statement. Dpending on your hardware, we strongly recommend the ThingSpeak libriray, which will help you handle variable types.
