The present code is a pair of Matlab functions that provide a computation of the cumulative (integrated) power spectrum of a signal. Two functions are developed – one for the aggregated cumulative power spectrum computation and one for the short-time cumulative power spectrum.
The cumulative spectrum is an alternative (and often insightful) way of presenting the information given by the traditional spectral analysis. At each frequency, the cumulative line spectrum gives the percent power accumulated up to that particular frequency. By definition, the y-axis on the cumulative spectrum plot starts at 0% and ends at 100%.
Two examples are given to clarify the usage of the functions. For convenience, the input and output arguments are given at the beginning of each function.
