I am originally from the Puglia region, in south-east Italy. I have received both Laurea (EE, 1996 with a period at Strathclyde University) and PhD (Robotics and Automation, 2000, with a period at Georgia Tech) from the University of Pisa, Italy. From 2000 to 2008 I have been a faculty member at West Virginia University. My research involved control of nonlinear and adaptive control systems, system identification, fault tolerance, machine vision, and sensor fusion, mostly applied to UAVs. I have published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in international journals and conferences, and a couple of book chapters. I have been working for MathWorks since January 2009 for MathWorks, covering different roles, first in the Los Angeles office and then in Natick (MA). Since 2019 I am responsible for the documentation of the Reinforcement Learning and Model Predictive Control toolboxes.

He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Communication Equipment and Technologies from Technical University of Varna in 2010 and 2012, respectively. In 2016 he received a Ph.D. degree in Theory of Communication. Mr. Zhivomirov is currently an Assoc. Professor in Department of Theory of Electrical Engineering and Measurements in Technical University of Varna. Mr. Zhivomirov is a member of IEEE, Federation of Scientific-Technical Unions in Bulgaria and Union of Scientists in Bulgaria. His research interests include the field of signal processing, electrical and electronics measurements and Matlab programming (Signal Processing, Data Acquisition, Data Visualization, etc.).

Daniel Auger is Professor of Electrification, Modelling and Control at Cranfield University. He is an expert in control systems, vehicle electrification and modelling. He has pioneered advanced battery management algorithms for lightweight lithium-sulfur batteries. He has also introduced new state-of-the-art MSc teaching in applied control engineering and launched a new course in connected and autonomous vehicle engineering. Before joining Cranfield, Daniel worked in senior control engineering roles in BAE Systems and MathWorks Consulting Services.
