A new control block that uses two tunable exponentail functions acting on both the error signal and its time-derivative. This block can be readily used with any control scheme by placing it at the front end. Once the tunable parameters are tuned properly, i.e. by employing metaheuristics, it is possible to achieve high performance.
In the attachment, as an example, the proposed model is integrated with a classical PID controller in presence of widely-used 2-area non-reheat interconnected power system.
