Multiple Scattering Theory (MST) is implemented in MATLAB and used to:
1. Calculate the total acoustic field following interaction between a 2D incident, planar background wave and a cluster of 2D circular scatterers. The resultant field is plotted.
2. Calculate a pressure spectrum at a point in a 2D field following interaction between a 2D incident, planar wave and a cluster of 2D circular scatterers. The resultant spectrum is plotted.
Both the background and scatterer media are fluids and longitudinal waves are considered.
Full details can be found in the text "A demonstration of a sonic crystal as an impedance matching layer to an ultrasonic piezoelectric transducer".
