This application allows the user to calculate appropriate parameters for the design and implementation of CHILL in a DC-DC buck converter.
The developed application, BuckControlLab, enables users to calculate, design, and simulate key parameters for implementing a Control Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) platform for a DC-DC buck converter.
It provides an interactive and user-friendly interface that integrates:
- Computation of critical converter variables – including duty cycle, output current, inductance, and capacitance.
- Controller design and tuning – supporting the synthesis and fine-tuning of P, PI, and PID controllers tailored to the specific plant model.
- Dynamic simulation environment – allowing both continuous and discrete simulations to validate performance before deployment.
- Real-time deployment – automatically generating, compiling, and uploading the designed control algorithm to a Texas Instruments LAUNCHXL-F28379D (C2000 Delfino) dual-core microcontroller, ensuring experimental validation of the control strategy.
This tool bridges the gap between theoretical design and practical implementation, making it ideal for educational laboratories, rapid prototyping, and research in digital control systems.
