This matlab demo code shows how to use the new flower algorithm to solve unconstrained global optimization problems.

Dalia (rand < p) means that during part of the simulation, the algorithm will do a global search (cross-pollination) and the other part will do local search (self-pollination). In the case (rand < p) and p = 0.8 for instance, according to how the code was written by Dr. Yang, means that 80% of the simulation the algorithm will do local search, and 20% will do global search. In the other way around (rand > p) you will get 80% of global search and 20% of local search. Hope I helped.

Regitha. The lambda constant is only to compute the appropriate variance to get the Lévy numbers according to Rosario Mantegna's algorithm. It can get values in the interval [0.75,1.95] and according to many tests, 1.5 was the best. It's fine if you use the same in any benchmark testing.

Snigdha. Look for the Cuckoo search algorithm applications code, it has some functions about how to handle constraints and in Flower Algorithm is done in the same way.

Thomas. The switch probability can be set in any way you want, just make sure what part of the time you want the algorithm to do.
