Multi-Pendulum simulation
This tool simulates a multi-pendulum with an arbitrary number of segments, arbitrary system parameters and initial conditions. Results are shown as animation and as plots.
Equations of motion are derived from Euler-Lagrange equations. The multi pendulum is a beautiful example of how a simple physical system can produce unpredictable, chaotic behaviour. It's also a nice example of using Euler-Lagrange equations for mechanical problems.
In the gui, you can chose the number of segments, masses and lengths of the pendula. Initial conditions can be selected too.
When you start the gui, it will select a random configuration.
Click "solve" to run the simulation.
Click "animate" to show an animation of the results.
Click "plot" to generate plots of the results.
