Ioannis Xirouchakis completed his BSc in Physics at University of Athens (UoA) in 2008 and his MSc in Communication Systems and Signal Processing at University of Bristol (UoB) in 2009. During his studies he was a research associate with UoA Electronics lab in Athens and Toshiba TRL research centre in Bristol. He joined u-Blox Athens in 2009 as a wireless R&D engineer where his responsibilities involved LTE and 802.11x layer-1 modelling and research on physical layer algorithms. In 2012 he moved to Sweden as a LTE algorithm and simulation technical leader, coordinating feature updates to the Ericsson multi-RAT broadband modem. In 2016 he joined Sequans Communications in Paris as a senior DSP research engineer and is responsible for contributing to future 3GPP 4G+/5G standards, currently focusing on the Internet of Things (IoT) domain.
