Accessing Historian data from Matlab

I have Matlab V2014 and I am trying to connect Historian to access data for analysis. Does anyone has experience building such interface using API? Any guidance in this case is really appreciated.

What is ‘Historian’? My Internet search engine seems not to have heard of it.

I've never heard of it but I found this: http://www.deskeng.com/de/mathworks-adds-opc-hda-support-for-process-historian-data-analysis-within-matlab/. Is that what you're talking about?
