Substitute C operator in matlab like divide, multiply, OR ,AND

I am looking for matlab operator which is equivalent to

<<= ,  >>= , ^= , &=, |=  

which is used in C

For these operators matlab has bitshift, bitand, bitor, bitxor and a few more. My experience (~10 years ago) was that they were "not comparatively as fast" as the C-language bit-operations.
