Salient Pole electrical generator model (not PowerSim)

I need to dervelop a Salient pole generator (multiple poles) for a Hydro machine and the inject faults into the machine. I want to analyse the V and I waveforms of the faulted condition for fault detection. Any suggestions on how to implemnt such a model without using Simscape?
