I am currently working on modeling an electrical grid using MATLAB/Simulink Simscape. The goal is to create a grid capable of handling a 5 MW load.
The grid side of the model is configured as follows:
✅ a 3-phase grid (33 kV, 50 Hz, X/R = 10)
✅ followed by a transformer (33 kV → 690 V, 50 Hz)
✅ and an LCL filter
However, I’m facing an issue: when I increase the load beyond a certain level, the power delivered does not increase as expected — it seems to be limited somewhere in the model. I suspect this might be due to constraints or incorrect parameters in the source, transformer, or LCL filter, but I haven’t been able to identify the exact cause yet.
If you have experience with Simscape power systems modeling, transformer and filter configuration, or have encountered similar challenges, I would be grateful for your insights, suggestions, or recommended resources.

Feel free to share your model file so that the community has a better chance to investigate the issue and provide useful insights.
Meanwhile, here are some resources which might prove useful. These are examples that demonstrate the modelling of electrical and power grids:
I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for the suggestions and links! I was able to get it running by adding an LCL filter to the system. It helped stabilize the model and resolved the issue.
