I have query about how I will estimate positional variance, I know the equation is given the paper but I can't figure it out. Also what does x+y=d denote written near by the summation, it doesn't seem to be limit to be me if it is, is a upper limit or lower limit.Also can't figure the values of x and y. I really can't understand please help me out here, I am new to MATLAB. Please mail me the MATLAB code at raspawar007@gmail.com .

You could send a mail to the corresponding author asking for clarification. They may even be willing to share code.

The corresponding author usually has his/her contact information on the first page of the paper. I cannot find the actual paper to verify that this is the case here.

The author seems to be working for google AI nowadays. You will have to do some digging yourself. Hopefully you can find his contact information via his work. If not, you may be able to find a more recent publication by the same author with updated contact details.
There was a post on this forum a few days ago on the same topic ( link ). Perhaps its somehow related?

No, I cant be sure of anything. It is quite likely that he is legally able to, since he did the work at a university.

To summarize: MATLAB Answers is for questions about MATLAB, Simulink, Polyspace and other Mathworks products. Questions about algorithms should be asked somewhere else, such as to the authors of the paper or in an image processing forum.
