Error installing Matlab toolbox "not a valid toolbox file"

Why do I get "toolbox cannot be installed because it is not a valid toolbox file" when trying to install with a mltbx file? Using Matlab R2018b trying to install Machine Vision Toolbox

If I remember correctly, the MATLAB Installer will install it correctly for you. Go to your MathWorks Account page and launch the Installer from there.
The problem I was having was the toolbox I need isn't on the list, I installed them from here http://petercorke.com/wordpress/toolboxes/machine-vision-toolbox. I thought I could open the mltbx files in matlab and install them that way but it wasn't working for me when I tried.
Did you find any solution?
I'm having the same problem as you.
One of my users is now having this same problem. 200+ people can install the toolbox using the *.mltbx file, but he keeps getting an error "Toolbox cannot be installed because it is not a valid toolbox file". However, the file is valid, so there's another issue.

We have the same issue on a customer environment with MATLAB R2019b. Any hints what is the reason for this error? Files are being copied to the Add-Ons installation folder during installation process but finally this error occurs. The MATLAB log files doesn't contain any hints or errors.

Be sure you download the correct file. You should download the file from this adress: https://petercorke.com/toolboxes/machine-vision-toolbox/ . By doing this i solved my problem.
