Read and work with medical images from Whole Brain Atlas in matlab

Hello, I am currently working on medical images, and I was going through Whole Brain Atlas-Harvard Medical School for MRI/CT/PET datasets. But whenever I am trying to read and show the data using imread() and imshow() function in MATLAB, the images are not appearing as it is seen in the website. Can anyone suugest me where I am going wrong? I really need help. Thanks in advance!

Are they all dicom images?? I have gone through the help pages, but it is not mentioned there.
Mostly, see format, its .dcm
Thank you sir! Can you please guide me how to download the datasets from that particular dataset (Whole Brain Atlas). I am working on image fusion and I need data from two different modalities of a similar organ (say, brain). I have seen through the pages of the atlas, and have been saving it simply using 'Save as', which saves it in a png. format. However, those images do not appear as exact if opened using imread/imshow in matlab. Probably, I am doing any mistake. I have searched throughout the atlas, but couldn't find the dicom format of those images as you have suggested above.
It does not appear to be possible to download datasets from there. Some movies can be downloaded.
That particualar site specializes in having registered images from different methodologies, but it does not appear to permit downloading the dicom files.
Thank you sir!
