3D plotting base surface

Hi there, i have a 3D figure i need to make a base for that . Should it be rectancgle and how to fill it?Many thanks :o

I am not certain what you are asking.
The plot appears to be by the stem3 function.
Try this:
x = randn(1, 10);
y = randn(1, 10);
z = randn(1, 10);
figure
stem3(x, y, z, 'filled')
hold on
xl = xlim;
yl = ylim;
hs = surf(xl, yl, zeros(size(xl(:)*yl)));
set(hs, 'FaceAlpha',0.2, 'FaceColor',[0.6 0.6 0.6])
hold off
grid on
