He received his Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya, Indonesia, and Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Malaysia. I started using MATLAB in 1985. Top of the line PCs had no hard drive, only 2e-3 GHz CPU, and 5e-4 GB RAM. Look how far we have come since then. Eventually I joined MathWorks. As an application engineer I met thousands of MATLAB users and helped them solve problems. As a quality engineer within the development organization I helped make MATLAB itself even better. Over the years I have used MATLAB to solve a wide range of technical computing problems. I enjoy exploring new problem spaces for myself and helping others learn to use MATLAB.

Asif L. Jamadar was born in Maharashtra, India, in 1990. He is Research Scholar (Ph.D.*) at RTMNU Nagpur, and working on DC to DC Converters. He received the B.E degree in Electrical Engineering from Solapur University, Solapur, India, in 2012 and M.E. degree in Electrical Power System from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India, in 2016. He is currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering, Sharad Institute of Technology College of Engineering, Ichalkaranji, India. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). His current research interests include power electronics, electrical machines and drives, active filters, flexible ac transmission systems and artificial intelligence.

He conducts research and consultancy in Power Quality, Condition Monitoring, Time-Frequency Analysis, Smart Grid, Data Centre Energy Efficiency, and Green ICT. He has published over 50 papers and presentations at International Conferences and Journals. Currently, he is a technical member of BIS working groups ETD01 and ETD20. He has been a senior member of IEEE PES, IAS, PELS, and DIS for the last 20 years and a Member of CIGRE India and NFE CWC, Chennai.
